Making a Spay Day Appointment

Spay Day is typically held the last Sunday in February.

We begin accepting applications in mid-January.


Who is eligible for Spay Day?

Residents of Sacramento and Yolo Counties who receive public assistance and/or have a household income of $35,000 a year or less are eligible. Proof of public assistance or income is required to receive a Spay Day appointment. 

How do I request an appointment?

We will begin accepting applications for Spay Day 2015 in January 2015.

When is Spay Day?

Spay Day is typically held the last Sunday in February. Some appointments will be scheduled the week before and three weeks after Spay Day.

How much does Spay Day cost?

$15 per cat
 and $20 per dog. Limit two pets per household.

What does each animal receive on Spay Day?

  • Spay or neuter surgery
  • Core vaccinations
  • Microchip identification and registration

Where does Spay Day take place?

At various veterinary clinics and animal shelters in Sacramento and Yolo Counties.
