Making a Spay Day Appointment
On February 26, 2012, hundreds of pets belonging to income-qualified families in Sacramento and Yolo Counties will receive low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and more as part of Spay Day Sacramento.
Who is eligible for Spay Day?
Residents of Sacramento and Yolo Counties who receive public assistance and/or have a household income of $35,000 a year or less. Proof of public assistance or income is required to receive a Spay Day appointment. If you do not meet one of these requirements, please see our list of low-cost spay/neuter programs in the Sacramento area for other options.
How do I request an appointment?
Fill out our online application. Applicants will be required to submit proof of income. Filling out the application does not guarantee you will receive an appointment. Beginning January 28, volunteers will call applicants to schedule appointments. Please note: We are now only accepting applications for cats. All of our dog appointments are filled.
How much does Spay Day cost?
$15 per cat and $20 per dog. Limit two pets per household.
What does each animal receive on Spay Day?
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Core vaccinations
- Microchip identification and registration
- Dose of flea preventative
Where does Spay Day take place?
At approximately 17 veterinary clinics and animal shelters in Sacramento and Yolo Counties.
