This list is designed to facilitate support and communication among local animal welfare advocates and rescuers in the Sacramento region. This is a moderated announcement list.

Messages will be posted if they adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Posts should have some relevance to animal rescue and welfare in the
Sacramento region. Posts about animals or situations in other states or regions will be rejected.

2. No owner surrender requests (as opposed to rescue situations) will be posted. Click here for suggestions on how to find a home for an animal.

3. Please include full name, group affiliation (if any) and contact information at the end of your e-mail post. Using your email address as the contact information is sufficient. If you do not at least include your name and e-mail address at the end of your message, it will be rejected.

4. No name-calling or negative discussions.

5. Forwarded posts and cross-posts on behalf of non-list members will be rejected unless they pertain to rescue in the Sacramento area and include contact information for the person forwarding the message. Anyone interested in posting to the SAAC list should join it. Membership is not moderated.

6. Posts regarding "Do Not Adopt" situations should not contain personal contact information (i.e. address, e-mail or phone number) or specific details of the situation. Simply state the name of the person, the "Do Not Adopt" recommendation and give your contact information. "Do Not Adopt" messages containing personal information will be rejected.

7. The SAAC email list is an information sharing and networking resource for animal rescuers and animal welfare advocates in the Sacramento region. It is not a discussion list. Messages that are discussion in nature will be rejected.
